Duh! It's not a "chick" movie. It's more of a political piece than a romance flick. And yes, they were out of Freddie Prinze Jr. movies.

Tagline: In war, the most powerful weapon is seduction.

Plot Outline: A British reporter, resentful of American colonialism in southeast Asia in the 1950s, vies against a young American for the affections of a Vietnamese beauty.

Sounds like a chick flick to me. I realize it's hard for you to tell the difference, being on the fence and all.

Not seen the movie, but the book was one of the most notable political thrillers made. It forshawdowed America’s invlolvement in Vietnam and outlined the problems. A book written in the 50s, Greene saw the quagmire others did not.

The book is about an American Spy who comes to Nam to trump up a democratic resistance to French Colonial rule, hoping to beat the commies to the punch. A herion addicted Brit journalist thinks he is niave and should leave well enough alone. Of course, they both fall in love with the same chick.
