    Umm wrong. Silver enables online play. Gold has a full upgrade of matchmaking and profile/record keeping stuff, but you can play online agianst others with Silver.

    I am leaning towards the PS3 also, but may have to get XBOX 360 when I see Madden on it.

    the live silver lets you play mmo's (generally w/ an additional subscription) but not the standard mulitplayer games that are live enabled.
