I'm hoping that X360 games look a LOT better than what was shown, and for MS and Nintendo's sake they better hope that PS3 games don't look like what was shown.

Bottom line, Sony did this same shit with PS2, and the same people are falling for it. I'm hoping that my favorite, Nintendo, can smack Sony around being the last to launch.

X360 will be happy to look as good as PS3, for Nintendo launching last, they have to be the best graphically.

MS will be first, and thus last graphically.

If Sony can convince the collective that their games will look like what was shown, then MS is dead in the water. Buy carefully this XMAS, I've seen this shit before.

 

It is hard to nail down the numbers right now. Both Microsoft and Sony are flautung T-Flops based on combining the CPU cores max along with the GPU's very inflated numbers (876 gflops in the XBOX). Sony wins the hype contest because they are multiplying the max gflop counts of the 8 core cell processor from STI. Very misleading because the whole idea of the cell architecture is to offload a cell to a particular system (video, IO, audio, etc) in order to achieve system wide processing at CPU speed. The power of the cell is the fact combined with cell based supporting chips you can larger dismiss the bus speed barrier.

Regardless, here are some rather nice screen shots. Top Spin2 for the XBOX 360 and Gran Tursimo for the PS3. It is going to be an awesome battle and we the consumer are going to benefit from both systems

Not likely. XBox won't have the same luxury they did last gen by launching last.

Their online infrastructure is an advantage that shouldn't be overlooked however.

Sony did the same shit they did last generation, and likely will have at least as much marketshare as they did.

 

I'm gonna buy both... then decide.

 

I'll try both also. If the ps3 looks like shit on big tv's then it goes right back. Cant imagine sony missing this again though.

 

Considering Sony's goal is to get every game running in a native 1080p, yeah I meant p, I don't think they are going to look too bad on your TV.

The best part about this gen will be watching the xbots scramble because their console isn't going to look the best.

Dave how the fuck do you think the X-Box will be better? The PS3 has already been shown that it dominated the 360 in every statistic. Not to mention its going to blow the 360 away in picture quality. The PS3 does 1080p as a standard, and its optional on the 360.
