We're taking the oldest kid this evening. I hope I can lay aside my 'the-book-was-better' attitude.

I enjoyed this movie. It strays far from the book, but that's OK with me.

There's a kid that everyone calls Know-It-All, and his voice and inflection sounded very familiar. I did some digging, and I figured out that Know-It-All is the Polar Express version of 'Eugene' from Grease. Voiced by Eddie Deezen, who did indeed play Eugene.

    Polar Express...

Finally seen it. Unbelieveable CG. And a good story. Tom Hanks can shit money.

I heard Hanks say on Letterman that they would have to box office gross 500M before they made a profit. They haven't come near that. But they will in years to come I'm sure.

But yeah, Tom Hanks is my favorite living actor.

i think it looks like shit, myself. they're square in the middle of the "uncanny valley". it's not fake looking, but nobody looks alive. it's like an all-zombie cast.

and it's really absurd to have tom hanks act out multiple parts if the concept was to motion capture actors to get the feeling for real actors interacting -- he can't possibly act with himself.

    silly.
