This season sucks. Either Hunter Pence, Cliff Lee, Shane Victorino or Juan Puerre are going to be traded by Tuesday. Hate to see Lee get moved but since Texas has missed out and they have the most to trade it makes sense, that and with Hamels new deal you would think saving money is attractive. Charlie Manuel is probably going to get fired at seasons end and Sandberg will move up from Lehigh Valley

Son of a Bitch. Now Hunter Pence to the Giants for a fucking catcher/1st baseman in AA. C/1B Tommy Joseph batting .260 in Richmond.

What's the point in pouring 75 mil a year into a starting staff when now you're replacing 3 outfielders, a third baseman and a starter assuming Blanton goes to the Orioles as rumored. Not to mention the shit middle relief we need to flush. I'm assuming one of the guys from the Dodgers will stay in Philly. Just wondering who will play the outfield from here on out this year. I'm assuming Brown gets another look and Pierre assuming Cincinnati backs off their interest. Maybe we can sign the slimmer Barry Bonds

Yeah, I don't get that deal with him being under contract another season. Just weird.

He was going to arbitration after this year and it looks like he was set to make 14 mil. As good of a trio that Halladay, Lee and Hamels are thats almost 75 mil a year between them. So the 14 million you save in shipping Pence away you still now need 2 outfielders (assuming brown holds onto one spot). Polanco and Blanton are off the books and that is roughly another 18 mil. The last 2 months will be a nice audition for Brown and other youngsters. I also read that Ryan Sandburg will come up to philadelphia when the iron pigs season is over so Charlie will be managing while looking over his shoulder

So? Are they going to try to win every game 2 to 1? Utley will never be what he was, and Howard may not either. Rollins is old as well. There aren't enough major league ready position prospects to jettison legitimate talent like Pence. Brown / Mayberry / Schierholtz is your OF? lol

Nope but 2-0 against the Nats (you're welcome Braves) after the trades. :punk:

Getting to .500 by seasons end would be fine by me

Bye Bye Blanton. Lee placed on waivers making him available for a trade

I think they're making a huge mistake by thinking about trading Lee. They need to embrace their strengths and build around having three extremely good, durable starting pitchers. The rest of the team is old anyway, so spend extra money to take your shot now and you can make up some of that revenue later when you slash the payroll as part of the inevitable rebuild.
