Took care of business this off season. Jettisoned the statue like Pat Burrell and signed a more well rounded player in Ibanez and the locked up Cole Hamels and Ryan Howard for 3 years each. Granted Ibanez is another lefty in the lineup along with Utley and Howard which may cause a lineup shakeup but I'm happy. Just need another RP to take up the slack for JC Romero and his 50 game suspension

Nothing like a 3 game sweep at home to cure what ails you. Phillies have been horrible for the last 3 weeks and haven't played for shit at home. No more. :FOFRBanana0518HL:

Shouldn't be hard. None of the Mets have hit for shit and they didn't address their biggest need in the off season that being SP. Having K-Rod in the bullpen is like putting premium gas in a Yugo

The question for the Phils is do they sell the farm and get the stud arm or stand pat and wait for the offseason to add a 3-4 starter and hope that Drabek comes up fast? If they can get Halladay or someone else that can be a frontline starter for 3-4 years, I can deal with letting the prospects go. Its been a godsend to play in the NL East (AA ball), and the hitting typically heats up around now, but I don't get the feeling the starters are good enough to get the job done come postseason. Certainly wouldn't have thought that last year just the same.

I heard on radio that Phillies are one of a handful of teams heading to Dominican Republic tp watch a simulated game with Pedro Martinez pitching. He wants 5 million plus incentives to sign. eeee no. The asking price for Halliday is a teams top 2 prospects PLUS 3-4 more prospects. That's steep. I'd go three players including the teams best player. I hear the Phils are watching Washburn and Bedard from Seattle as well as Zach Duke in Pittsburgh
