    >>But that’s not the case right now. Bushofsky said the Panthers probably wouldn’t want to trade down below the eighth spot for fear the talent level would begin to drop off. And the problem is that there are no teams that pick in the top eight that have multiple first-round draft picks.

Good. That pretty much nixes any thoughts of a trade with Oakland, which would have made me puke.

I think it's Buffalo witha a bunch of picks or nobody right now. We should leak that Detroit is fixated on Harrington.

If I were rating the possibilities of trade downs, I'd be inclined to agree with you Piper. Us putting our demands on the table before an offer has been made only hurts our chances of doing it though. Let a team make an offer before upping the anty.

Nothing wrong with setting your price. You want to sell something, you set a range so people who don't want to spend the money don't waste your time.

In other words, they seem to be hoping that they can get at least Buchanon. They might possibly want Sims, but getting a DT in general isn't a concern this high.

Don't some teams follow the theory of drafting best available player & not need. I like Sims, not sure how high he should go but he may arguably be the highest impact player at that stage. If he is, then why not pick him... so he beats out a current Dline guy... would that not now mean you have a deeper and better Dline?

What if that trade down deal gets you Sims and the rights to a better than what we have now DE? Were OK at Dline, why not be great?

Oh, that's simple. It won't. You won't trade down and still get an impact left end.

That assumes that Sims and an undersized right end is all it takes. I don't think it's that simple.

The Panthers just need warm bodies. Trade down and you can still fill some holes.

yeah, i dont think the panthers are in a position to be stockpiling depth at any spot. let's get the starters in place first.

Go to 4th with Buffalo and the target is still either Peppers or Jammer

Go to 6th with Dallas the target is Buchanon

Go to 8th with Kansas City the target is Sims

Those are the only scenarios I can come up with. Unless of course we take Duckett early or maybe Grant
