Played for Meeks, was a key part of their rotation at DT. Undersized, but nice motor and a good ST'er.

Would be a good add, given our depth issues.

 

We don't really have a need, but Torry Holt has repeatedly whored himself out (Troy Vincent-style) for the Panthers. Said on more than one occasion that Carolina would be his next target.

“The real story is that I have this year and next year and hopefully I can finish those years out,” Holt said. “Then I will see where I am at. I will see where I am at physically and emotionally and financially. Then, if they would like to do something here I will consider it. If not, then I will have the option to go and explore and give my services somewhere else. If that happens, Carolina will definitely be my first choice. There is no question about it. I have 2008 and 2009 left to play and that is what I plan on doing.”

So, that one depends largely on STL's plans with him, and if he is cut, what price makes sense to have him come in and compete with Muhammad. Would certainly spell the end of Hackett.

Still, can't really think it will happen.

 

Darrell Reid just got arrested. Might have to scratch that one from the list.

I'd bring in Kelvin Hayden to replace Marshall.

 

Cutting Holt frees up 8 million for them, it's pretty fucking likely.

 

we don't have a need, but it'd be hard to argue that Holt isn't an upgrade. And it's been pretty evident I feel Moose is an asset.

But that, plus it being so run-based, I have a hard time believing there are enough balls.

 

I can't imagine any scenario where we go after Holt, unless he wants to play special teams. Moose has plenty of tread left on the tire, Jarrett catches everything thrown to him, and we usually don't activate more than four, which leaves Jones probably with the #4 spot. I think Hackett should and will be cut, but that's not an opening for Holt.

 

He'd fit in Zona if they want to part ways with Boldin.

edit: especially if the Martz rumors have any substance.

 

I would like to have Holt. It is not a need area but he is still a good player and an upgrade.
