    I don't think he's supposed to be likable. Ricky Gervais has the ability to make you so uncomfortable while watching the show you have to turn it. It's fantastically awkward. As good as Carrell is, I prefer the British version just for the awkward factor.

    yep, I like the main guy better. The Amercian guy is just sort of a goof while the British guy is more complex IMO.

    The American version is Homer Simpsoning the character making him more and more dumb over time. It's still a good show though but I don't watch it much. I saw the British version first and I always try to compare it to that.

    I like both versions. The American version is mind candy, while the British version is more engaging. I give the edge to the British version because of the Christmas reunion shows. That was maybe the best television ever.

    I guess I'm watching re-runs now, but I like the shakeup with the black dude as regional manager. Jim being in the doghouse and all, makes it fresh.
