Here is what is stupid to me. I am sitting there watching the Hawaii/Boise State tilt knowing that it has impact on the National title match-up.
    What the hell?
    Play it off already!!!

You know the thing that really kills me? These talking heads are gonna get on tv and sing the praises of the bowl system and the bcs. Former "never have been" coaches like Bob Davie and Bill Curry have already blabbed their two cents worth this season during telecasts saying things like "the entire regular season is a playoff" and "a post season tournament would not work in D1 football". Just wait, in the face of yet another lose/lose situation in college football they will try to make it all better by insulting our intelligence. These guys (old guard) will probably have to die off first before we will ever see a playoff format.

i'm just looking at it based mainly on who they lost to. OU lost to a damn good KState team, who, barring an injury to roberson, could have made a run this year and showed that saturday. LSU lost to a Florida team, who once they settled on one quarterback in Leak, was a pretty damn good team. USC lost to California. that on top of the strength of schedule, its a no-brainer in my opinion.

    Very heady article.

"First off, the strength of schedule formula is simplistic: a schedule is rated mostly on opponents' winning percentage. Do you think all 8-4 teams are equal? Is playing 8-4 Florida the same as playing 8-4 Memphis or 8-4 New Mexico? Of course not. But it's treated just the same in the BCS."

    Ouch.

"As for the rest of us, we can shake our heads and watch college football's version of the WBC and WBA title bouts, awaiting the day when a true unification title bout is a guaranteed to settle things on the field each season."

Yep. Championships shouldn't be determined by scrubs playing scrubs. Strength of schedule shouldn't be omitted, but OU losing should matter more than Notre Dame losing, and the message being sent is contrary to that.

Just tell me what the matchups are so THE MAN can post a line and I can bet. It could be Duke and Rutgers for all I care.
