The Next Killer Flu?

It is already a huge issue. They have been destroying entire chicken stocks in SE Asia. One guy said that it's the ducks that are the wild card, because you can't control them and wild ones mix in with the domestic ones.

This thing has a known death rate of around 50%. It is already a deadly weapon, it just doesn't have an effecient delivery system. Once it gets that we better watch out.

 

This is going back a ways. I remember the swine flu back in the early 70's. Where I lived nobody had that flu but the health department made sure everyone got the flu shot. We were told the shot would prevent us from getting it. I cant say for sure if the vaccine was live or dead but Ill tell you what-----over half of us kids that recieved that shot with the gun not a needle----got the damn flu. I was one of them. Put me down for about four days. Since then Ive only come down with the flu once and never got a flu shot. My kids never came down with any kind of flu. The only way I will get a flu shot if its mandatory and they take me kicking and screaming. In the mean time Ill wash my hands, not lick my fingers to count money (yes a lot of you do that) and other things to keep from getting sick.

Researchers link the 1918 epidemic to the avian flu.

 

I got my flu shot last week and my arm was sore for 3 days!

 

And I read somewhere that when they were studying it on mice, the 1918 flu killed faster than any other flu ever studied.

 

This is supposed to be worse than SARS. SARS killed what - 4 people in CA, so this should get about 5.

And, I hate it when those asian flus come in and take away the hard working American flu's job.

 

Actually if it becomes airborne and has the same potency it currently does with its transmission, the survival rate now stands at 50%. Meaning it could wipe out half the world's population.

 

They didn't start using the dormant virus until relatively recently. Last 10 or so years.
