Ok, so I am now starting to have some interest in the NBA again. There seems to be some really nice young talent out there that so far seems to have their act together.

    1) Okafor
    2) Lebron
    3) Wade
    4) Amare
    5) Hinrich

I am sure there are at least another 5 you could add easy. I wonder how this team would do playing against any other team?

Is this enough to bring the NBA back to where it once was?

alot of good players - the NBA is playing offense again - the games seem to be much higher scoring than in the past several years. Nothing worse than watching an NBA rugby scrum that ends in an 79-73 final. I think the Suns/Spurs had a 111-111 tie at the end of regulation which is the way it should be in the NBA.

But I doubt the NBA will ever return to the Bird/Magic/Jordan glory days.

Yep, this past week I watched parts of about 3 games, which is the most I have watched in 3 or 4 years now.

Just the little bit I've seen from Highlights the past few years, it seems that if teams have a Superstar, all they try to do is get him an open or semi-open shot. And if he happens to miss, that's when his team mates have the opportunity to score, off of put-backs. Is that still a fair assessment (sp) these days or no?

Speaking of Sacramento...whatever happened to that white kid that played for them several years ago? From the highlights I'd see he was pretty good handling the ball. What's his name and does he still play?

jason williams. had some pistol peete in him. i hate that sacto wanted to bottle up his creativit. anyway, he got traded to the grizzlies for mike bibby. he's with memphis right now. he never reached his potential, but he's decent.

Yeah that was him...I liked watching his highlights. Dishing the ball off like he did. I like seeing Pistol Pete's old highlights too. Thanks for the info. :xyzthumbs

There really is some good basketball being played in the league, and a lot of bad (see atlanta, new orleans, new york, etc).

Going back to UNCFever, the only way i see the nba getting back to where it was is to continue the influx of european players into the league due to their refined skills in shooting, ball handling, and passing. when this happens, that will send a big sign (and it already is starting to creep in there) to the high schools, colleges, youth camps, etc to develop and hone the skills of the game, instead of molding a team due to athleticism. don't get me wrong, athletetic improvement is something we shouldn't frown upon, but i think the more europeans that permeate the league, the bigger wake up call it will give this country's bballers.

either way, i think people are finding that the old school way of playing ball actually is pretty damn affective.
