You are right - but had Mack stayed I think we would have made it. Of course, right about now, Mack has to be asking himself if he made the right move when he went to Austin.

I don't have a dog in this fight, so to speak, but VP is pretty dead on, but I have no sources.

I dont have sources either, its my opinion and my opinion has been gathered from all the books Dean wrote. Ive read them all, and if you read the "fine print" something made Dean unhappy before he broke the winning record. He didn't even want to do that, but he did it b/c the players told him to for them. I just think there is more than what we know, and I think it has to do with DB. I'm not the only one either, alot of UNC fans think that. Dean still had a few good years left in him, no denying that.

I haven't really read the thread.

But we really shouldn't be talking about UNC in a thread titled "National Title" in the College Football forum.

    Please stop.

    Thank you in advance.

Feel free to call me nuts, but I am holding a ticket for Texas at 14-1 to win the BCS.

Maybe Oklahoma will get hit by the flu for that game. Or maybe lightning.

Jack Del Rio will take over at UNC after Jacksonville wins the Super Bowl.

    Nope.

Matter of fact, without a Stoops brother backing him, I wouldn't touch Spurrier. The guy won't coach long enough to have another Florida prog., nor will that really be possible in central NC in the ACC.

I think I put out some fine names as potential coaches of strength to build a real program - not too old, success elsewhere and looking for a leg up. Just like some of the burgeoning coaches at ACC schools that have surpassed UNC.

I dunno. Drives me nuts. About as nuts as the idea that Bill Cowher was going to leave the Steelers to coach State.
