No. But that doesn't make everything you posted earlier suddenly become even remotely true. Mack did not leave for extra cash. There were probably 3 only jobs he would have left UNC for - Texas, Oklahoma, and FSU and one of them called. Bad luck for us.

And if you think that Dean retired because of Baddour you are just nuts. Dean quit because he wanted to quit. I am also 100% convinced that if Dean could get a job coaching high school without it becoming a circus he would. Hell, if all he had to do at UNC was coach he'd have died on the floor.

He also thought he had it all scripted out - including agreement from the principal parties - and it all fell apart (this is purely opinion on my part).

I have some swampland to sell to the idiots who think Spurrier would entrust his career to that trainwreck. Not to mention the school's fanbase is too small and the turnaround time is too long for a guy who just had his reputation run over in the NFL. He needs immediate results for his ego and his reputation. The people making Duke references are forgetting that he only took that job because he didn't have a reputation yet. He bolted for the first big time school he could find, and Florida SUCKED before he got there. No offense to the baby blue crowd (ok, maybe some), but this aint hoops. Your school is not a big time program, and hasn't ever been before. They had one really nice, though overhyped year when Mack was there and that's it.

Spurrier to Texas, and maybe you can have Mack back (if there isnt too much bad blood). That seems much more realistic. The other talk is just being fueled by wishful thinking alumni. Spurrier hasnt even mentioned it.

I think you'd be doing ok with a guy like Steve Logan who already knows the landscape and could finally recruit like he always wanted to at his last job.

They were real close to becoming a legit top 15 team year in, year out. Kshead has the numbers to prove it.

    Close but no cee-gar.

Look, I'm not trying to ruffle feathers. I think you and I agree that the Spurrier thing is far fetched.

Actually, Spurrier mentioned UNC about 5th on his list.
