Then put him #3. That's what I'm saying. Where we are, he'll be back in a couple of weeks from now.

    Exactly.

  3. that's exactly what happened. As I pointed out in another post....this is almost identical to last year when MorningWood benched Batch in favor of Detmer. The quotes were "this is Charlie's team" and "Charlie is the future of this team" etc.

Coaches want their guy to be QBs. The writing is on the wall. Chris' days are numbered, this is his last year. The future is either Fasini or is in next year's draft.

Players aren't stupid, they know what abilities other players have. Most Panthers now realize the season is tanked.

    Or free agency.

Well fuck it. Imma sit here in these rose colored glasses.

If Foster gets healthy, he could make a big frikkin difference.

Remember that spell when the Ravens went 5 games with no TD? And they won all of them?

    Ya never know.

Yeah Cleveland drafted a franchise quaterback in Kosar and look how great that turned out. He'd've had a hall of fame career just about any place else.

    That's funny...

Oh and I agree on the tip toe thingy... Frankly I think this whole move is brilliant. I can see it being played out...

there were rumblings in the press soon after Fox was hired that he didn't think Weinke could get it done. Seems he had a bias coming in and there was nothing Weinke could have done to change that. weinke is in limbo right now, it's best for both him and the team that he gets out of here.

Now the big question is why we didn't go after another QB besides Peete. Look at who was out there and what they signed for. None of them would set the world on fire, but they are all better than Peete. Rob Johnson, Jeff Blake, Kent Graham, Charlie Batch, and Gus Frerotte all signed for little over a million this year. Don't tell me we couldn't have afforded any of them. Dilfer was still unsigned at that point, but we'd have had to axe several players to afford him. Tony Banks I wouldn't have on a Pop Warner roster but he's a hell of lot younger than Peete. Yep, around week 8 when the Panthers are drawing less than 20K in attendance they're gonna hit the panic button and sign Jeff George.

Poor personel decisions have plagued the team from day one and they show no signs of changing that. Hurney the so called genius keeps signing mediocre talent to contracts that'll end up paying them like Pro Bowlers simply by showing up. This idiocy has to stop. Why is it that Polian knew how to say no to that kind of bullshit and Hurney doesn't?

The problem Fox is going to run into with this is when some one else isn't performing up to his expectations and he does nothing.
Say Moose has a game where he drops three passes in a row, does Fox get "ballsy" and put him on the pine? How about Morgan missing a few tackles, will he be collecting splinters? What will Fox's excuse be? This has the potental to ruin his credibility with the team, the fans, and the press. He may well be digging his own grave if he's not careful.

    Seriously...

do you think Peete can take a hit from Ray Lewis and get up by himself? I can remember when I was 36. I was ran over by a Buick, I didn't get up for a week. Peete's in better shape than I was, Probably won't take him but 3 days.
