    ...the more i like it.

i said it before, it was a ballsy move by fox. i think it's just what this franchise needed -- a kick in the ass that says you'd better bring it 100% every play or we'll get someone else in here who will. and if your 100% isn't good enough, we'll give someone else a shot.

it's about thime that attitude came about. capers's just let the players run amock and seifert was too soft.

i'm glad fox laid down the law and showed them that he's the man. right or wrong, it's the kind of swift proactive move that this franchise has never seen before.

As long as it works. If it sets him down, gets him to develop a little more and think differently, then it works. Of course, if he gets another chance and he falters, then we weeded him out. That also works. On the other hand it made it impossible to see him actually in the offense. The two games he played extended, he had mixed results that were basically a function of pressure. He struggled against the pressure and that didn't happen as much last year. I'd have liked to have found out why.

Instead of handling it internally, now it's put out there. Ballsy, but we'll see if it's the right way. Hopefully it'll push players to always be fearful of losing their jobs, but won't push away potential prospects.

You are right... I am glad too.. Trust Me, I can live with people coming to me in December and sayin hey dude you were so wrong on Winky... he responded well and delevered...

Guess now no one can say that if he does succeed he would have done so on his own will... its obvious now... coaches do matter in the NFL...

Weinke looked damn good to me against Dallas. It's hard to judge right now. It's grasping at straws if you ax me. Another long season is ahead.

i dont care what effect it has on W-E-I-N-K-E, but rather the tone it sets for the team -- that these coaches are all about winning, not coddling.

He did look very good. Like I said - he looked great without much pressure, or at least when we weren't playing cowpatty bingo with the OL. I don't think the least bit was accomplished by moving our players around like that, other than to make the first team offense look foolish.

But it won't be the last time. I was expecting an amount of struggle from this offense anyway, and when it's running best Henning has been called very boring.

Anyway, I'd have liked to have figured out why Weinke struggled so much versus pressure this preseason, or at least against constant pressure. That's fixable since he did well in a different system.

Agreed, for Winky to succeed now, he would dispell a lot of opinions on the fact his success at FSU was a reflection of the talent around him...

Dallas was playing vanilla, and Fox's thing was the last two teams played more complicated schemes.

    True.

I don't like the timing. I don't like the execution. I don't like, mostly, that I fear a perpetual carosel will come about of this, and we won't see the proggression of anyone. We don't really have a starter settled as in, yeah, he's our guy, and my fear is we will have this Miller, Mathews, McNown type situation.

Teaching Fasani to stay in the pocket .99 seconds longer than he does is more fixable than teaching a guy how to inspire the offense on the field, or create something out of nothing...

They got a good line and a good back if healhy. Pressure shouldn't be an issue when you're only throwing the ball downfield about 10 yards.
