    The market operates outside the whims of the financial geniuses in DC. People are losing money so they take their money out making more people lose money. Some people buy when it's down and it comes back up the next day. Then they sell when it starts to fall.

    No, we live in a "right now" society. Everything the govt is doing will take time to have any effect on the economy. The market doesn't like that.

    GM down 30%. yikes. The market is down over 40% in the last week and a half. 1 in 3 car loans are being turned down. :smiley_beatin_horse

    The bailout was never aimed at the stock market anyway. It was aimed at financial firms' bottom lines. Any result on the stock market is indirect. Much like any result we see from the bailout.

    And remember boys and girls, tomorrow, AIG is auctioning off their credit default swaps. About $400bn. And the G7 are meeting in DC.
