That Richards guy for Davidson is a great heady point guard and Lovedale is a good post player. Not flashy like Curry but Sander, Richards, and Lovedale get the job done. Curry is a freak of nature though. Everytime he shoots it I think it's going in

    Holy shit that was epic.

I forgot all about that moron, but the comparison is quite apt.

Just like his dad. I remember when he was in his prime for the Hornets. He could flat light it up. When he was on everybody in the building knew his shot (sometimes from 28 feet with a hand in his face) was going in. The crowd would rise, arms up, already cheering as soon as it left his hand. Those were good times.

As for K - he has definitely lost a step. He has not only neglected bringing in big time players the last few years, he's also brought in some real losers. Taylor King for one - somebody up above said none of King's poor play was K's fault - and they are right to a degree - but the truth is he does excatly what K brought him in to do - jack up threes. Surely K didn't recruit him to drive to the hoop, play tough defense or be a tough rebounder inside. If he did he has REALLY lost his recruiting touch. Nope K brought him in for one reason and one reason only. Stand outside the line and shoot if your open.

But K can definitely get it back. I figured he might do kind of what Dean did - recruit a monster team, play lights out ball with them a couple years, then leave Dawkins a loaded team to start with. Just like Dean did with Gut. But time is running short for that. I can't imagine K coaching for more than 6-7 years. If he wants to go out with a bang he better already be lining up his last major recruiting class.

good point.....is his "bang" to win titles or surpass his mentor for wins?

I hope he is somewhat looking out for Duke and not just K and would like to mix a title or two in with the all time wins (yes he will get that).....K does have a little inflated ego....

Part of K's problem is exactly what has already been said - he develops no bench. Part of that problem is that he doesn't recruit more than 1-2 guys a year. In that respect, people transferring and going to the NBA IS a problem for the program.
Because of the NBA especially, recruiting has to change with the times for the program to continue to improve.

I actually agree that dealing strictly with X's and O's - k is probably a better coach. I would also say that K gets way more out of his kids than Roy does. But, if you want to look at kids that leave the program having respect for their coach and their coach for them, Roy has that one nailed - hands down. That loyalty is what helps build the program into what it is.
One of Roy's problems isn't that he can't come up with a game plan, it's that he trusts completely in the one he already uses. He and Dean believed more in the philosophy that 'We're going to do what we do and not worry about what you do. Now try to stop us.'

I'm pretty sure they won't ever fire K. I don't think he's at that point, but another couple of seasons like the last couple and people will start scratching their heads....

No, Its not to that point yet for sure. K has done a lot for dook, so he will get a several year pass just for that.

The only way I could see him getting fired from the part time gig if true, would be if he were to say sorry dook, I have been busy with my personal agenda doing other stuff.
