Scott Pollard said that if Roy thinks he's going to the 'Family Reunion' in Chapel Hill he's got another thing coming.

Pollard was pretty ticked off at the whole move.

Dude, Roy wasnt so fucking naive to jump to the UNC family just b/c they came calling.....He did his homework, he knew that Gut left the cupboard bare....Caple Lang and Boone would have been puking during games running that offense that roy wanted....."Ole Roy" wasnt gonna tarnish his image and struggle to make the NCAAs with 2nd rate players just to be "back home"....."ole Roy" aint that fucking stupid. though, you are.

That only made people feel better about him leaving.....he made them up nice left some players there...then flew the coop cause he knew he had the athletes at UNC.

And, again, these are all your opinions.
The guy struggled with the decision the first time. He decided to stay because of the kids and the program. It's documented - look it up.
Would you be able to turn down your dream job if they came calling? Probably not - but the fact that he stayed at Kansas because he felt an obligation is pretty admirable in my opinion.
He's a stand up guy and the fact that he is really bothers some people. It's called jealousy.

At UNC in his first year, they went 19-11, went 8-8 in the ACC, and lost in the second round of the NCAA tourney... I'm not proud of those numbers, but to say he jumped ship isn't true.

LOL, and I believe Coach K took the Olympic coaching job b/c he loves America....dude seriously take off the tarheel blue glasses and realize that Roy knew what he was doing when he did it and it wasnt b/c he felt obligated to Kansas.

Part of the reason Roy left is because he didn't like the newly hired athletic director. Leaving a job for a better one, because you don't like your boss.

    Yeah, that never happens.

And what about all those players that bail on their coaches to jump to the NBA? Seems that works both ways dosen't it.

I never said he didn't know what he was doing. Taking the coaching job at UNC was exactly the right move for him.
Your accusation was that he 'bailed' on Kansas for a better team. I was just pointing out that you were wrong because the Kansas team was the better team over those years and even the first year Roy was at UNC.

Then why didn't he go the first time if he was going to go 3 years later? Sorry but the argument doesnt hold water....what does hold water is that he knew when the best time to leave would be and that wasnt when Adam Boone was going to be his starting PG and Richard Reid his best player.

Out of LOYALTY which is how this conversation started. It was agonizing for him to turn it down the first time.
