Anyone know anything about native american religions? I have heard that there is one that worships "the great spirit" which some have said may be the same God christians worship. I could almost buy God revealing himself to the people who were outside the reach of the early church in a manner such as this.

of course, the implication if that's true would be that he (presumably) gave this land to them.

That could be true. They had this land for a long time. He could also have taken it away by allowing whites to come here. Prehaps they failed to hold to the "great spirit" and started worshipping animals and trees so the took the land away.
