You really think the idea of no god isn't dangerous? Interesting.

What do you consider to be dangerous ideas?

Not playing games with ya, C. I'm interested.

Not at all, and I have no idea why you thought otherwise. Faith isn't about hiding from the idea that god might not exist, but rather continued belief in spite of that possibility. Maybe you simply don't understand religious people and made assumptions of weakness that aren't true.
Those that undermine the human ideal: post-modernism, communism, nihilism, etc. Both the first and the last are commonly present in your thinking.

The movie was way better than the book, not an outstanding movie, but enjoyable. Probably hard to follow if you hadn't read the book first though.

The did leave out a pretty pivotal scene, but I think it was because they didn't want to show any children dying on screen. Still, it ruins the ending.

In the books, everyone can ALREADY do as they please, which, as it turns out, is part of the problem for everyone by the end.

And the children don't kill God. Two adults sacrifice themselves to kill a son-of-a-bitch angel who is after their daughter.

I love the 'As I understand it' part. Whoever this person is has written this whole waste of space as hearsay.

And the boy and the girl don't kill God.

Which is why parents need to read the books or see the movie before blindly taking their kids. This principle applies to all books and movies, not just potentially anti-religious books and movies.

There is nothing in the book about castration and female circumcision. Unbelievable.

They 'participated' by letting the poor dude out of a cage he was in and he died being carried off by the wind because of his weakened state.

And he was indeed A PRETENDER GOD. He established the religious system as he knew it by telling everyone he was the creator of everything.

The irony of that part of the story is that Pullman leaves the possibility that God actually exists.

I think its funny the Vatican took 12 years after the first book and 2 years after the last to condemn the stories. They have enough verifiably bad history to be worried about it.
