    Which Mary? :imagestor

I didn't know that childbirth was subject to interpretation and ulterior motives, but that does raise the "virgin" mary debate.

Childbirth, no. But taking on the burden, living with that knowledege, raising your son all the while knowing he was God's child. In all reality I should have included Joseph too, because he probably had the harder job.

Didn't have milk cartons back then. Or photos for that matter. It would be a bitch to paint pics on all those bottles.

I'm saying that the KJV has gone through at least 2 translations (possibly 3), whereas the NIV and NASB are direct translations from the original Hebrew, Greek, and Aramaic texts. Besides the archaic language, I've noticed enough discrepancies in the KJV that I prefer not to use it.

From what I've seen, the discrepancies aren't blatant -- they're subtle -- but significant enough to me to throw up red flags.

Forget Mary, what about Jesus? An argument could be made that Jesus was God through a human 'filter'. What does that mean for His message?

Hebrew/Greek to Latin to 17th century English, as far as I know, and there may be one more step in there somewhere. Not sure about that, though. Aside from that, there were a lot more politics and beauracracy involved in the compilation of the KJV than in the NIV or NASB, wouldn't you agree?
