    Clearly the bible does not condone homosexuality. I do not think anyone can make a logical argument that it does unless they are willing to throw out large chunks of it in the process.

    I do not know all the details about that woman and her job but it does not seem like she should be fired for being gay. If it affected her job performance in some way or if she were trying to push pro-gay politics at work that would be one thing but outside of that I can not see it.

    Acutally, I think the two got fired for admitting to cohabitating for sexual purposes which is against the law in NC. There is currently a case working it way through the courts on this very issue based upon an employee in the Sampson County Sheriff's department getting fired for cohabitating with her boyfriend. Sheriff gave her two choices and she picked getting fired.

    i suppose it must have something to do with homosexuals "embrassing" the sin as opposed to torturing themselves with guilt. it's the "life of sin" that's probably the issue. there aren't compulsive gambler pride marches or lying for the pleasure of lying festivals (cept maybe in congress and perhaps corporate america). accepting something that's supposed to condemn you to hell (and even going the extra mile and taking pride in it (a sin in and of itself, supposedly)) just seems to rub people the wrong way (no pun intended).

    I think you pretty much nailed it. I think that effect combined with the inherit aversion to the behavior make it have the status it does.
