I think someone who believes the Bible is infallible after all these years as the 100% Word of God is not able/willing to use the common sense He gave them.

The God I believe in doesn't make one person better than another and gays are born that way (or something happens in early development that makes them that way.) And God is not gonna allow that to happen to someone if it is the major mortal sin you Bible-bangers make it out to be.

I know you believe we just woke up one morning and decided we'd try a penis- but that's not the way it happens. And you, being someone who has never had to live thru it, are awful brazen to think you know more than you possibly ever could.

Prehaps I am but to dismiss the bible and all those who believe in it because it does not accomodate your lifestyle is pretty brazen too. You are entitled to your beliefs but so am I.

Just as many people believe the Koran and the teachings of Buddha.

Christians seem to dismiss those pretty quick.

Those that believe the Koran also dismiss Christian beliefs as well. I am guessing, but imagine almost all beliefs think their way is right.

So I haven't read through this entire thread, but are you/others discounting scriptures view on if being gay is wrong?

I know you said this is the way you were born and you have lived this life so you know all about it. So if I remember correctly men/women that were gay but changed because of their christians beliefs are still living a lie because they are really gay and just won't admit it?

Sorry if somebody else said that, but just trying to get up to speed on the topic here.

I may reject those religions but I do not accuse anyone who follows them of being brain washed and unable to think on their own.

    exactly.

A man can say he's a woman, have his genitals changed around and get some breast implants- but deep down, he's still a man.

    Thelt...

.. If I have read you correct, you say you believe homosexuality is wrong but have the 'hate the sin, love the sinner' belief about it. Please correct me here if I am wrong.

Hundreds of thousands of gays that were brought up to believe in Christ and Christianity have turned away from God and the church because of the way the 'church' treats them. Builder is the perfect example; brought up by a Christian family but finally just said "fuck it!" after being condemned to hell for so long.

My question: What have you, as a person, done to help spread Gods love to these people? Do you personally know any gay people? Have you ever sat down at the same table with one?

Or have you sat on the couch with a fixed mind-set on a group of people you don't even know and have made no attempt to know?

You are correct on my view of this. I have known a few gay people but I have not addressed this subject with them. First off they are usually not openly gay but it was fairly easy to tell. Second any attempt to speak of this with them would likely have the opposite effect of what I desired. I have tried to treat them well and not look down on them.

That is a whole other arena than a message board where people come to argue about things. Like I have said before I respect your freedom and your right to live as you see fit. I just think you are not being fair or reasonable when you lump everyone who believes homosexuality is a sin in the with those who are filled with hate, discrimination and even violence. Tolerance does not mean the same thing as acceptance. In this country it is not only fair but common to tell you something you do is a sin and at the same time defend your right to do it.

They weren't openly gay, but you 'could tell'? That in itself is judging. All homos aren't flamers Thelt.

What have you, as a Christian, done to differentiate yourself from The Fred Phelps type of Christian? Have you made any stand against the violence and hate?
