Gold, frankincense a myrrh delivered by his three lawyers. Coincidentally enough, that last lawyers ever referred to as "wise".

after reading your link, I don't see that following the Bishop's Bible could have negatively affected the final translation. Point #1 under their guidelines said that the Bishops bible was to be followed and, "as little altered as the Truth of the original would permit".

and with regard to the revisions, how do you know that they were "tampering" and that they didn't go back to the original text (i.e. the textus receptus) to further clarify the truth being conveyed?

    Serious question:

You're a young Christian man and realize that men turn you on; not just sexually, but emotionally too. The thought of any physical relationship with a woman turns your stomach.

    Options:

    A. Keep it repressed and remain a virgin
    B. Keep it repressed and marry a woman because the Bible says so.
    C. Marry a woman and sleep with men on the side.
    D. Live your life in shame for something you have no control over.

    Bullshit.

Any of the above options would eventually do emotional damage to any human being and it's not fair to expect someone to live in misery. We all have the right to persue happiness as long as nobody else is hurt in that persuit.

So I'm sorry if the 'gay and proud' bothers you Thelt, but for most of us- it's the only sane option. And you better get use to it since more and more gay men and women are also coming to this realization.

"Gay and Proud" does not bother me. My religious beliefs tell me that it is a sin and that God wont forgive sin if you do not admit it is a sin. I will not say it is OK to do it for that reason. I do not sit around think of how much I hate gays or anything like that. I am just not willing to change my religious beliefs to accomodate people.

Having not been in your position I am not sure what it must be like to be a Christian and have those feelings. I am sure it would be very difficult. I do however firmly believe that God does not make it impossible for a person to be saved and there has to be a way to overcome it.

actually you were correct; I moved it here and prefer it here.

Realistically I don't think I can be involved in a topic I feel so strongly about and follow the rules of R&S. I've tried.
