    I find this quite unbelievable:

    Cult man joins The Doors

‘Wolf Child’ to hit the road with legendary psychedelic rockers

The Cult frontman Ian Astbury will tour and record a new album with The Doors next year. Astbury joins original members Ray Manzarek (keyboards) and Robby Krieger (guitar) and former Police drummer Stewart Copeland. Original sticksman John Densmore will not be taking part in the forthcoming band activities due to ill health.

Says Manzarek, "The music is Doors-like but new. It's different from The Doors, but decidedly Doors-like. We're going in various directions musically. Ian Astbury had always expressed a desire to perform with The Doors, saying that if we ever take it on the road, he wanted to be a part of it. We met Ian when he performed on `Storytellers' with us, and he immediately fit in. Ian is his own man singing Doors songs. He's got that Shamanic power and sense of danger about him that is so Morrison-esque, without being an imitation of Jim Morrison."

The band make their first official live appearance at The Palms in Las Vegas on December 8.

Did you see the Doors: Storytellers on VH1? Sooo good. Ian kicks ass. I'd love to see him with them live. Put it this way, at least it's not Scott Staff infection from Creed.

Manzarek sounds like he's still in 1968.

I imagine so, if you consider playing crotch and head music 1968 versus the crotch and stomach music of today.
