With the devalued dollar at historic lows agains the Pound and Euro and on par with the Canadian dollar, is this good/bad news for the US economy? Sure, a lower dollar helps US exports but the US doesn't really export as much as years past. Is there a threat the dollar will cease to be the currency of choice for other nations reserves and they'll switch to the Euro? Discuss.

No kidding. I'm guessing the US is seeing more foreign visitors which is a good thing since overal that has decreased since the tighter security standards post 9/11. I say let them come and spend their money.

Sucks to travel to Europe but other places still aren't too bad.

Hopefully the rest of the world can survive if the US goes into recession. It's been to long they've been dependent on us. Besides, I'll just keep my money in international funds while all this works itself out.

The value of the dollar sucks right now. I´ve been in Montevideo for the past week - jackets, food, car rental - you name it - it doesn´t hold squat what it did here three years ago. Paid $90 for dinner last night - same restaurant, more people three years ago cost me $35.

We are the deafult ISP for the world. We could capitalize on that for a few years. Free to Americans. Russians and Iranians are cut off from the flow of the digital oil. Should grandfather in the price to peak in about 3 years because people will figure out workarounds and govt's will fund it. Then taper off the price as market share is stolen over the next handful of years as infrastructure is put in. Then transition into service apps.

OR....we should nationalize Microsoft, Google, and Apple and put me in charge of the military. /snicker
