    • Rookie running back DeShaun Foster had microfracture knee surgery Thursday performed by Dr. James Andrews in Birmingham, Ala.

    Foster initially injured his knee in an exhibition at New England and attempted to come back before midseason, but had more problems.

    The Panthers have said Foster is expected to be ready for training camp next year.
