There was absolutely nothing wrong with a rabbi marrying and having children in the first century, or today.

Teej, the story is pretty decent if you think of it purely as entertainment.

yeah, that's usually my reaction too. If the critics think a movie is great, it's usually really bad.

still, the reviews are so overwhelmingly on the "bad side." They're just crucifying Howard. Plus there's something about Tom Hanks with a mullett that makes me want to stay the fuck away.

Then its a damn good thing that Brown's publisher shipped eleventy million new copies to stores to capitalize on the popularity of the film. :thud:

I've seen the reviews and still want to see the movie. It's rather long at over 2.5 hours. I don't really expect it to be better than the book as movies based on books rarely are. I've read where the movie has toned down Langdon and cut out completely the "sex" scene. Yea, Tom Hanks with a mullet is strange but at least they didn't cast Tom Cruise in this one.

I read the book and thought it was great. Definately hard to put down. I want to see the movie as well no matter what the critics say. I may wait till it comes out on video - but I want to see it.

JB - read the book....just remember you got it in the "fiction" section of the store. It a murder mystery - who done it kind of book. Think of it like the movie National Treasure with Nick Cage......the Mason didn't really hide all that treasure either......and I heard there were a lot of people who tried looking for clue after this movie came out too.
