yeah, it's pretty sad over there.

they knew they needed lebron, there's no doubt about that. the whole team was designed to compliment lebron. they've mostly got spot-up shooters and guys who play away from the basket to help make room underneath so lebron could get to the basket or drive and kick. you can't not help on lebron, so shooters would get good, easy looks. take out lebron, and everybody is guardable.

the other thing to keep in mind is that they don't have ilgauskus anymore, either. plus, delonte west was traded away due to mental health issues. they dumped him figuring his contract was cheap enough to buy out that they could use it to get somebody worth having. instead, they got ryan hollins and ramon sessions. hollins sucks. and sessions has been disappointingly mediocre.

the nail in the coffin was losing varajao with a season ending injury. and once the losing starts, it's hard for guys to motivate to bother playing better. at this stage, it's almost an unwritten rule that losing is better than winning. if they're going to suck, they might as well suck enough to get the most ping pong balls. i mean, that's how they got lebron in the first place.

scott also has a history of tearing teams down before building them back up. so i'd expect to see some serious turn-over over there.

as for lebron, the miami heat don't look much better than the cavs have looked for the last couple years. i suppose you could say they might be built better for the playoffs with 3 guys out there getting "star treatment" but it looks to me like lebron is having to carry the team as much as he's had to with cleveland.
