You caught me. I often take the time to read things and intentionally miss important points. Yep, that's the ticket!

FTW! Found the letter (with redacted names of course since we are still following the new UNC-CH motto 'To seem rather than to be') on Tarheel Blue. On page 37 (of 42), Under 9. [NCAA Constitution 2.8.1] and then in bulletpoint c. (For your reading pleasure, here it is): During 2009 and 2010, the institution failed to investigate information related to preferential treatment benefits and benefits from individuals triggering NCAA agent legislation provided to football student-athlete (blank name). The institution did not adequately follow up on information indicating a risk of improper benefits being provided when reported by (blank name) to administrators within the football program, which led to impermissible benefits provided in Allegation No. 4".

    He shoots, he scores!!!!

But, I'm sure Butch knew nothing!!!!

You said you read it but apparently you missed the entire c. bulletpoint on Page 37 under 9. [NCAA Constitution 2.8.1]. Do you always miss seven lines in everything you read? Lord, I was just browsing through it and found it pretty easy. Go to each allegation, look at what it's about and then read the details.

That seems to be more of a boilerplate or coverall allegation to me. If there was some sort of coverup, I highly doubt that they would have put it in a sub-bullet at the end of the allegation list. But you go ahead and hang your hat on that and pretend that UNC is running some sort rouge, corrupt athletic department.

And remember that these are allegations - and that one is hardly specific or lengthy - and not proven facts.

Would the NCAA allege stuff if it wasn't pretty sure it had the facts to back up those allegations? I realize the NCAA is probably just as corrupt as some of the schools it investigates but as of today it is the only cop in town.

Yeah, I would say that they would. The same way that a prosecutor is going to pile in as much stuff as possible into an indictment.

And considering that covering something up is a very serious matter, I doubt that they have tons of proof of a largescale effort, but it is more along the lines of someone saying "I told someone that Marvin was in FL." But we will know more once UNC responds.

UNC isn't rogue and corrupt? 9 allegations from the NCAA that they apparently know enough to back up unless UNC can show different. 42 pages worth of allegations while Ohio State gets 13.

And no, you are wrong. The NCAA knows that there was information put forward in 2009 by someone to the football program and the football program did not investigate it adequately. Now, clearly we know why as at least one component of the program (the assistant head coach) was obviously looking past the rules. It's pretty clear why they didn't investigate it for two years. There's so much other crap going on that the didn't want the NCAA there in the first place.

I'm not far from agreeing with you. I want to see their response though before going there.
