He's back with the E Street Band and it's their first album since Born in the USA back in 84. The new album has the Classic E Street sound. All of the 15 tracks are more or less Bruce's response to the 9/11 attacks. They are not tribute songs (thank God) and not specifically about the attacks. There is a song called City of Ruins and other songs when he sings about a loved one disappearing into the dust and into the fire, dark sky, confusion, a sad day, hurt and pain, etc. To me, the songs are lacking in content. There is a lot, and I do mean a lot, of repetition in a lot of the songs. That has been common in previous albums... but it seems more in excess on this one and almost annoying. There needs to be more story to the songs and less saying the same phrase over and over and over.... and over... and, yes, over and over.
