I found the first book to be a compelling read at the time, but then when The Bible Code II came out after 9/11, saying the Bible Code knew about that one too, I was like "whatever." Fat lot of good it did anybody...

I've seen other documentaries on the History Channel about this, and from what I've seen so far, it's mostly hindsight -- not much good for predicting the future. They also applied some of the same methods to great works of literature (Moby Dick and the like) and came up with similar results. I dunno how much credibility I give Bible Code research.

that was the stupidest thing i've ever seen. okay, that's a bit of exaggeration, but still.

the moby dick experiment was interesting and that was in english.

my guess is that hebrew might be a whole different sorta language. okay, did a quick google search and found that ancient hebrew characters themselves have meanings on their own. for that matter, they have MULTIPLE meanings. so if you take a random series of hebrew letters, you could probably interpret them to mean at least something -- particularly if you then let them be "poetic".

you could see this in the stupid shuttle "matrix". five "letters" that the guy interpreted as "it will be consumed by fire". oh please.

oh yeah, i loved how they actually spent time to describe why it made no sense to believe the bible code was created by aliens. THEY ACTUALLY THOUGHT ABOUT IT AND THEN REASONED THRU WHY IT DIDN'T MAKE SENSE. man. talk about stupid.

Sometimes the value of thought out arguments is in the eye of the beholder. There seems to be a significant number of people who at least seriously consider the possibility that the Bible was actually written by aliens, or think God was an alien.
