the Baltimore 49ers?

    Grady is interviewing for the Orioles job. That could be interesting. Former 49er shortstop (96-99) Joey Hammond hit .280 last year in AAA and played almost every postition. John Maine is the best pitching prospect in the organization. It could be a 49er tri-fecta in Baltimore soon.

    of course, wouldn't it be ironic to see him get the job than find George Sandel end up in the Orioles organization by end of Spring Training '04.

    seriously, I'll be shocked if he never manages in the majors again.

    While I clearly don't know the "whole" story, I guess staying in the division is one way to get some revenge on the people in Boston.

    I should of clarified that Hammond was AAA for the Orioles, and of course Maine is Orioles also. I wasn't referring to Sandel and all the other Niners in the minors.
