    It is and always has been the official policy of the NCAA to place wins and loses of Interim coaches on their record, not the coach they are replacing. Those loses were never on Coach K's record so he didn't have to petition them to remove anything. They were never there.

    this whole discussion ALWAYS gets the dookies riled up... they can't STAND it when this comes in to question. I'm not even involved in this, but its fun as hell to watch.

    Yes, I'm obviously "riled up". The entertaining part is the number of people who love to prove their ignorance of NCAA rules by perpetuating this myth.

    Those losses won't effect how fast Coach K will get to 900 career wins Bob Knight is gonna shatter Dean's record in 2 years or so anyway.

    Well Deans record is bound to be broken anyways, any decent to good coach that coaches long term in todays game with the number of games played each year would have a chance at that.

    This is the kinda stuff I was talking about... they get to pouting and start throwing this stuff out there... classic UNC & Duke... good stuff. If last year's national championship did ANYTHING it added a little more spark back to this old rivalry that has hurt a little since Dean retired.

    So, you would cheer on other schools against your high school team?

    That's pretty lame too.

    You have no vested interest in a school you did not attend. You do have one in a school you attended. My mom and dad are Charlotte fans, but they had two kids go to UNC Charlotte. Believe you me, when Charlotte played UF, he was cheering for his alma matter. The same would happen with my mom if we were to play UCF.
