The truth is....I have spoke to numerous people that lost weight on the diet. They are all in excess of 30lbs. over weight still even though they've lost 20-40lbs. I think atkins is more for very over weight people that eat nothing but carbs, sugar and fat. Just my observation.

I couldn't do Atkins if my life depended on it... I am way to much of a potato, meat, bread and pasta person.

Just find something that works for you and will help keep you motivated.

Be careful with the fat burners. We've lost a couple of football players to ephedra (Korey Stringer and a college player). A couple of years ago I tried chromium picolinate (sp?) for a few days until I cramped so bad in the gym that I literally had to call my wife to drive me home. Rather than fat burners, maybe just force more water.

Man! Riddel i was thinking of posting a thread yesterday asking how you were doing on the diet. The first three days are bad. I was cussing Dr. Atkins the second day and if it weren't for knowing that my brother would of rode my ass if i had given up, i was going to give up! I felt bad the first three days, had a killer headache~ even my teeth hurt BUT on the 4th day i woke up and it was all gone and i felt great! I haven't had any of those bad feelings again and i have more energy. Darn, you only had one more day and you would've made it:(

Take it from me, I have been on Akins for 3-4mths and have lost about 30 lbs. I am now going off it for a weekend a mth - then back on.

I'm 5'8 and weighed around 200. I'm at 170 now and feel totally better about my situation. About 5 more pounds and then its just maintenance when I start to put some back on. Atkins isn't just for really fat people.

    My advice...
Buy a month supply of food including any of the following that you like to eat:
Peanuts, Steak, Hamburger meat, hot dogs, pickles, Eggs, Cheese Sticks, Virginia Ham (or reg), Turkey, Chicken, Aspargus, Green Beans, Tuna, Mayo, Mustard, Almost any salad dressing and start drinking diet sodas, coffee is ok (with little cream and sugar sub) and water.

There are others but that the stuff I eat mostly. Keep in mind that you need to eat as few carbs as possible for about a week. Then you can cheat a little but just keep the daily intake of carbs as low as possible.

Take a weekend a month and eat whatever the hell you want. Worked for me.

Ephedra is bad for you. Any stimulant that strong that increases your heart rate is gonna mean more heart related problems in the long run. I took it and I know. It causes heart palputations and overall is extremely dangerous - especially if you exercise heavily with it in your system. Fuck ephedra!
