    Because you would be playing in your opponents home city and still wanting to be the home team and control tickets. That just isn't right.

    What does UNCC bring to the table that UNC couldn't already get?

    That's not the point. Chapel Hill can get anyone they want. I have no issue with that. It's the principle of the matter. If you want to play Charlotte in Charlotte don't ask to be the home team. It makes no sense.

    I agree with VA49er on this one. If UNC wants to play someone else in Charlotte, and be the home team, that's fine, but it's fairly arrogant to say, "lets play the Charlotte 49ers at TWC Arena, and make them the road team."

    Why should UNCC even think for a second to agree to this? They give up a home date, and a nice monetary boost, thanks to the gate (because UNC has enough fans in CLT to fill the place anyway).

    Just be glad it didn't turn out in your favor. The Heels would embarrass UNCC in front of any crowd, regardless of who the 'home team' is.

    Because UNCC needs to raise the profile of their program, and the only way to do that is to play the big boys. The only way you get to play the big boys is to play by their rules. It's not fair, but that's the way it is.

    If this were five to ten years ago, then I could see UNCC being more discerning and turning this down. But the Niners of today aren't the Niners of back then, and the only way they're going to get there is by dropping the whole pretense that they're still one of the big teams and doing whatever it takes to get themselves a higher profile. Sometimes that means swallowing your pride and accepting something that you otherwise wouldn't.

    Off the top of my head? A likely nationally televized game. Tons of exposure prior to it. And a chance to knock off one of the best teams in the nation. And I don't think that UNC controling the ticket sales means that is the way that the revenue is split, but I could be wrong.

    The exposre would be nice, but not at that cost.

    Why else would Roy want to control the tickets? It has to be based on revenue.
