That 20,200 number takes a special setup, which wasn't done for the game. It was considered a sellout.

It's understandable for the UNC to want it to be the home team but it's arrogant for their fans to think it's their right.

    1) UNC can fill the lower bowl by just holding an open practice
    2) UNCC doesn't fill Halton for real games
    3) Charlotte, as a city, pretty much ignores UNCC
    4) Charlotte is a city in North Carolina, and it's the University of North Carolina, so nyah :p

    really? prove me wrong.

UNC fans in the CLT area would kill their parents for a ticket to see their beloved Heels, and you know it. And 49er fans that had tickets would be smart enough to scalp UNC fans and make some money on the tix.

I think Solarte is right on here.

Also, I believe the Charlotte fans are focusing on the wrong thing.

Shouldn't you be more mad at Roy's assertion that Chapel Hill controls the tickets? That takes the money out of the coffers of the 49ers, and nearly 20,000 seats equals a lot of dollars (granted, they don't get all of the money, because the Tarheels get an allotment, but you get the idea.)

Who cares what jersey you wear? Home court is a mental thing (and a fans thing, so if your fan base is local, you can spurn on the student body and shuttle them to the game and make it your home court and the color jersey is meaningless).

It's the money thing that should get you going. Those games generate a great deal of revenue (even after the exorbitant amount of money the Bobcats charge for the venue). Go ask Charlotte what they made with the Wake and Maryland games last year and then decide what's more important to get steamed about.
