I still don't understand what he's talking about either. With a DVR, you can watch all the shows you watch now in about 25% less time. Oh well... doesn't matter.

After having one, I couldn't live withour mine. :woot: Although Time Warner customer service sucks, the one thing they have going for them is the cheap HD-DVR boxes. I'm paying an additional $7/month for mine (it has two tuners and the ability to record HD)... a similar box from the satelitte companies will be around $800. :wtf23:

It's like this: if I know 2 1-hour shows are coming on from 9 to 11pm on Thursday, and I have to record another show on a different channel from 9-10pm, then I have to watch that other show outside of the 2 hours I'm spending watching the other 2 shows. I don't want to do that.

    time warner DVR

-makes any tv have picture in picture

-you can record two shows a once, but you must watch one of the shows while recording(cant record two and watch something else)

-can pause any show any time. ex, you watch csi at 9:00pm. you can pause it when it comes on, go take a 20 minute dump, come back hit play and watch it with no commercials and it will still end at 10:00 normal scheduled time.

after hAVing one, I dont know if i could do without. it doesnt make you watch more tv, you watch less commercials and can watch what you want when you want.
no more having to be in front of the tv when it says a show comes on.

zap2it.com is reporting that Smallville will be moving to Thursday Night. WB also plans on moving Everwood to Thursday in an effort to seriously compete on Thursday Nights.

So record all three while you do something else and watch them the next night in 2 hours and 15 minutes. ;)

But I'm set in my ways. I MUST watch certain shows when they come on.

    Pretty bad, huh?

Most one hour shows have less than 40 minutes of content - add in the opening and the credits, easily skip 25 minutes of bullshit with DVR.

We usually watch 2 one hour shows in a little over an hour.

I hardly ever watch anything as it comes on. I almost always Tivo stuff and watch it later so as to skip commericals. It works great for wrestling too, I skip through the guys I do not like and only watch the ones I do.
