13:28 PT: The Carolina Panthers worked out undrafted rookie free agent DE Karim Grant (Acadia University) on Wednesday.

11:26 PT: The Gaston Gazette reports Carolina Panthers rookie QB Randy Fasani will likely be the team’s No. 3 quarterback following the departure of Matt Lytle on Tuesday. QB Chris Weinke will be the team’s starting QB again this year with veteran Rodney Peete serving as the No. 2. The Panthers have another quarterback, Matt Watkins, on roster but he’s playing in NFL Europe.

11:26 PT: The Gaston Gazette reports free agent QB Matt Lytle’s agent, Bradley Peter, said he’s happy the Carolina Panthers let Lytle go now rather than down the road because it gives Lytle a chance to compete for a job elsewhere

    Anybody know anything about Grant?

Kinda light for a DE, isn't he?

He has apparently put on 20 pounds since last year, but yeah.

stupid question - his bio says 'LB/SS'. I assume that's what he played in college, at least last year anyway. Why would he market himself as a DE now? Why not LB or SS?

Don't know. Pass rushers are sexy. The Freak and Leonard Little do it, and everyone becomes a copy cat.

I put a different article in my wonderful thread regarding undrafted rookies.

He fits the theme of small but fast DE's - of the 4 rookies we have, 3 are small and fast. The 4th is peppers - big and fast.
