Yeah - what the hell is:

a court order barring him from assaulting, threatening or harassing her because she thinks he's a continuing threat.

Isn't that always the deal? And what's with no restraining order?

I think the lockup thing is mandatory. If my wife called and said i slapped her, I'd goto jail on $2500 bond, no matter what.

    hmmm.

Yeah, we don';t know the whole story of course... So it could be embellished a bit - I have heard of women doing that though in order to make their divorce case stronger. Did the woman have any evidence of attack? Until that is proven, it's only heresay - like it or not.

I had a friend one time, seemed normal, happy, harmless, congenial.

Then you find out he likes to go home, tackle his wife, slap her and spit in her face. In front of their kids.

    :(

Panthers lineman arrested on domestic charge|
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) — Carolina Panthers offensive lineman Chris Terry appeared in court Thursday on a charge of assaulting his wife and was freed on $2,500 bond.
Terry was arrested Wednesday evening after his wife, Nyquell Jackson-Terry, 29, told police he pushed her into a wall during an argument at their home in south Charlotte.
Terry appeared in Mecklenburg District Court on Thursday after spending the night in the county’s central jail. His lawyer, Chris Fialko, declined to comment on the case and the team did not immediately return a call seeking comment.
The Panthers are to open training camp Friday in Spartanburg, S.C.
Terry, a second-round pick out of Georgia in 1999, has started all but one game in his three seasons with the team. The Panthers list the Jacksonville, Fla., native at 6-foot-5, 295 pounds.
Terry played last season at right tackle, helping the Panthers set a franchise record for fewest quarterback sacks allowed, with 31.
According to the team Web site, Jackson and his wife have a 3-year-old daughter and a 2-year-old son.

I was wondering when our usual dose of player misconduct would come up. It doesn't even suprise me anymore!
Is her name really Nyquell? I'd kill my parents if they combined to common bathroom products (Nyquill and Quell). When asked what her name comes from she'd have to say she is was named after shampoo that allows you to sleep when you sick?

This is very dissapointing even if it proves to be a hoax. We have had so many problems that it just continues to tarnish an already black and blue image of the Carolina Panther orginazation. I know we have to keep in mind that sports is nothing more than a microcosm of society and all but crap, it is like a broken record with the Panthers.

I'm just sick of hearing stories like this from the Panthers. I don't think Terry is any King Hell right tackle, anyhow. I'm all for giving a guy his day in court but this is a distraction that the Panthers just don't need right now.

    one more thing.....

I was just watching the news on NBC6 and they had a copy of some report that Mrs. Terry had filled out. Besides describing all that happened she also wrote on it that Terry was already enrolled in the NFL drug treatment program.

I know that info is usually confidential until the suspensions start...but damn another Seifert pick with drug problems???

    Way to go George!!!!!

The most dangerous thing in the world to a man's wealth, fame, freedom, and happiness is a wife who has his children and a good lawyer. He is a goner and can never be anything but what she says he is because she can with little effort provoke him into deep trouble. AND WOMEN KNOW IT. The strongest thing in the world is that little pussy.

That may be true, Catch. Still, I imagine everything tightens up on a woman when she's facing a raging 300# behemoth. I'm adjusting to the idea of Melvin Teuten at right tackle this year or at least until all of this is sorted out.
