The reason Clemson and Auburn have fired coaches is they realize that Tennessee will be looking for a new coach by the year end and Clemson and Auburn are getting a head start in locking in coaches now instead of the end of year which of course effects recruiting, etc.

Tennessee will be looking at Butch Davis of NC. and the Wake Forest coach out of the ACC.

Clemson will probably lock in Kiffin the ex. Raiders coach and Muschamp may end up at Auburn. I can see Muschamp at a head coach maybe even at Tenn.

Many other coaches mentioned for Tenn. are: Patterson, Venables, Cowher, Bronco Mendenhall, Kevin Steele and Petterson of Boise State, etc.

one incident doesn't make or break you, and I know he's well thought of in college, but it's always funny to see Kevin Steele promoted as anything.

From what I understand, Clemson has pretty much dropped Kiffen from the list.

I was traveling last night and listening to a radio talk show out of Nashville. The callers all were very nasty with regards to Fulmer. It's not of if, it's when he is gone. Butch Davis was mentioned 20 times in an hour.

The final nail could be driven in this week. I'd love to see that fat piece of shit resign of get fired after being blown out by Alabama.

    Gruden??

Hot rumors around the Knoxville area has Jon Gruden as a possibility. Gruden actually did his graduate assistant work under former UT coach Johnny Majors, and he married a former UT cheerleader. As fate would have it...The TB Bucs are idle this weekend and the Grudens are scheduled to be back in Knoxville this weekend for UT's homecoming. I'm not so sure the Vols are ready to dig that deep into the pocket to lure Gruden away from the NFL. His current salary pays him in the 5 MIL per year range. UT would atleast have to match or exceed that figure I'm sure. After spending years in the NFL I dont know if Gruden could adjust to the college athlete. I do know that he waould be a outstanding recruiter and with the pro connections, it could serve as another reason to attend Tennessee.

Since we're apparently being ridiculous, I heard that Jesus Christ was going to move up his return now that the UT job became available. He's the best recruiter in history.
