I was listening to a local radio station about the Peterson situation at UT. They were kicking around names of replacements if he is fired. Bobby Lutz was mentioned as a possible candidate. FYI

We're going to be hearing a lot of this crap due to the team's success this year. It's an annual topic of conversation it seems. If we can keep him after this year I think he'll stay around awhile. We'll see.

I am a UT alum. The job is a coaching graveyard. I hope for his sake he wouldn't even consider it.

I agree with you, but I can't understand why. Great Conference? Check. Great recruiting base? Check. Recognized name? Check. Don't know about the facilities and support for b-ball, but I've got to think that UT could find the money to upgrade if they had to and the fans seem to support a winner.

Did you graduate undergrad from UT?

If those darn women were not so successful, someone might actually come to the mens games.

Excellent facilities. Football is king though.

Add "great facilities" and you just described UNC Football.

It'd be tough to play third fiddle to football and women's basketball.

The facilities blow. Thompson Bolling is a dump and is nearly impossible to replace because there is no available land to build on. It basicly overhangs the backside of the hill that the football stadium is on and was difficult to build. And it's u-g-l-y. It looks like a Tractor Supply store with orange instead of red paint.

No one on campus cares about men's basketball (no tradition) and neither does the AD's office, beyond staying somewhat competitive. It's all about football, with women's basketball and baseball playing 2nd and third fiddle. Kevin O'Neil, Jerry Greene, a lot of coaches' careers have bought the farm there. It's a hoops wasteland.

The job really isnt any different than the one Melvin Watkins took at Texas A&M.
