    Cowboys

Some of these are reaches, but all are teams that seem to be uncertain at QB.

If we get a top five pick, which I think we will, who else will be there?

Seattle - they'll take a stud qb ahead of us.
Cincinatti - I can only hope a stud QB would flat out tell them he won't play there.

Some of the other teams are sinking fast, but I don't think they'll have picks before us. What I can see is someone trading up to get Leftwich.

I don't think we should trade up for shit, unless it can be with day 2 picks. Too much great quality on day one, especially in WR.

    What would be better though?

Trading up for Leftwitch, having to pay big top 3 money to two guys, and not getting an elite reciever, or getting that elite reciever in round one or two and taking a shot with Ragone or Carson Palmer?

You would think we would be tired of 'taking shots' by now and and draft someone with 'projected' talent and not 'potential' talent. No one is a sure thing but lets not gamble any more than we already have to. I'm liking Leftwich more and more. Especially after seeing Manning get worked over last weekend.

we may miss out on big time WR this year but what good is going to do if we dont have a QB who can throw the ball to him? We could have Terrell Owens and Marvin Harrison on the Panthers and it would not do us one bit of good right now.

    Getting an FA receiver, imho.

This is probably the best QB class since 2000. Tim Couch was the “consensous” pick in 2000. The Byron Leftwitch. The Eagles took Donovan McNabb, a guy with great “potential,” better athlete and arm, like Ragone, but raw. Who is better off. I’m sure the Eagles are glad they didn’t trade their whole draft for Couch.

True dat. I don't want to trade up.

I'm thinking the Front Office will stick to their guns, stick to the plan, and do the right thing.

I am worried that Foster will be a bust that will be in the tub 11 games out of the year. But Peppers is the shit. Way better than I thought, and a much better choice than Jammer.

    Drafting good is tough.

I went over to the charlotte board. First post I read was criticizing Leftwitch, and thought we should go after Chrissy SIMS. I reminded myself why I don’t ever go there.

that thread is hilarious. Serious question here. Does anyone know the average age of those guys on charlotte.com? Surely it has to be high school and below.

According to someone on the tfy board, Leftwitch was quoted as saying his nightmare scenerio was "with the first pick in the NFL Draft, the Cinncinatti Bengals select Byron Leftwitch."

The Bungles will probably trade down, select William Kennedy, and play him at Fullback.
