So USA vs Greece tomorrow at 8 am. I believe it's on USA HD.

This is the last team to beat Team USA in hoops, there's a good article on espn about the matchup.

    Final

    USA 92
    Greece 69

USA is won this game on defense, plain and simple. Krzyzewski has taught the USA great pressure defense and Greece is being quite overwhelmed. Another slow start for the USA, especially when PG Jason Kidd picked up three fouls in the first 95 seconds of the game. But Chris Paul calmed Team USA down to get them into their total game rhythm.

What has to be the best play of the tournament so far was when Dwayne Wade was attempting to save the ball from going out of bounds well behind the three-point line, and alley-ooped to Kobe Bryant. I was half-asleep until that play!

    Leading Scorers

    USA: Chris Bosh 18 (5 rebs, 2 blocks), Kobe Bryant 18 (4 rebs, 2 ast), Dwayne Wade 17 (5 ast, 6 stls), LeBron James 13 (6 rebs, 6 ast, 3 blocks)

    Greece: Papaloukis 15, Spanoulis 14, Fortsis 9, Bourouisis 9

And yes, its awesome to hear the NBA on NBC theme once again.

They looked damn good today. Bosh was all over the place and that was the first time I really saw the intensity ratcheted up. The team actually played like they were pissed. Stupid "All Star game" like plays still piss me off sometimes like Jason Kidd driving down the lane, sees a man in front of him (This is Greece in a packed in 2-3 zone.) so he tries to throw the ball off the backboard for James (who obviously didn't know what the hell Kidd was doing) to somehow make the most miraculous dunk ever. They have about 5 turnovers a game doing stupid crap like that

Watching them play Spain right now. Not screwing around, except for Dwight Howard rejecting a shot into the stands that was clearly on the way down. Lebron gave him a little speech about it on the way back down the floor.

I'm waiting for a fight to break out. Now that the US has a bigger lead, James seems to have cooled off, but it looked like he was going to slug one of those guys earlier.

This one's over. We play defense like this, the US can't lose.

I guess the world really has caught up  Hope U.S. just doesn't tank in the single elimination. If they play 80% they'll beat anyone. Hell, Angola played them the best out of anyone. Ricky Rubio the #1 pick in the draft? That dude got absolutely schooled by Paul and Williams all day. I know he's only 17 but I just don't see him being the #1 pick unless this year's incoming freshman crop is super weak. I think the international teams are pissed that U.S. actually started a national program and they are currently receiving beat downs on a nightly basis. 8 players scored in double figures today, and even Michael Redd was dunking

And for the second time these Olympics, my TW Dvr just decides it doesn't want to record the game.

    I guess it's a broken pos, great.

Quarterfinal matchups for the Olympic Medal Rounds...I will update as results are available

    Women

    (A1) Australia 79
    (B4) Czech Republic 46

    (B2) China 77
    (A3) Belarus 62

    (A2) Russia 84
    (B3) Spain 65

    (B1) United States 104
    (A4) South Korea 60

    Men

    (A1) Lithuania 94
    (B4) China 68

    (B2) Spain 72
    (A3) Croatia 59

    (A2) Argentina 80
    (B3) Greece 78

    (B1) United States 116
    (A4) Australia 85

Looking ahead, if you have TiVo...Get them ready. If the USA Men get to the gold medal game...It will be aired live at 2:30 am on Sunday. Which is completely ridiculous because the semifinal games are at 8 am and 10:15 am (Thurs - Women, Fri - Men) and the women's bronze medal & gold medal games are for 7:30 am and 10 am, respectively, on Saturday.

Hopefully the scheduling will improve for the 2012 London Games, and hopefully, the 2016 Olympics in Chicago.
