I know the competition is kind of crappy but we look a ton better than last year. This team has great perimeter D and Michael Redd seems to be the missing piece of the puzzle. Kobe's been playing good on O but his lights out D is really impressive. Wouldn't be surprised if they beat Brazil by 30+ tonight. They look real good.

Ive been griping that they need Michael Redd for years. Finally they open their damn eyes and get some PURE SHOOTERS on the team. It makes all the difference in the world. You want win games in international play if all you have is slashers and dunkers.

I actually watched a little of the Brazil game. I thought I was dreaming when I saw the US team make a three pointer and a couple of free throws.

Biggest difference in my opinion is that they have people who can legitimately defend. They're still getting most of their points from dunks.

I still don't think a lot of them realize all international players do is shoot threes. International players can't drive to the basket for crap. They just do a pick and roll and shoot from the top of the three point line (Which is way to close). A lot of the time the perimeter D doesn't get up on them and guard them. Kobe has been great on the defensive end.
