I'm like Larry, I don't count calories or carbs. It will make you crazy. Eat less move more. Portion control is the key. Walk away from every meal a little hungry and the weight pours off.

I think the reason I became interested in calories was b/c i had no clue about them - you could've told me that a person needs 150000 per day or 150. I had no clue. I also had no idea what foods had how many calories - like that 4 times per week when i ate 3 krispy kreme raspberry donuts and a quart of whole mile right before bed was a shit ton of calories. Or that my smoothies had about 700 calories. Or snack foods - triscuits, chips and salsa, etc. I was totally ignorant about that stuff.

So learning about calories per pound, healthy daily caloric intake, and what foods are loaded with empty calories was a big help and it made the whole process seem like basic math.

That, combined with daily cardio, and it rolled right off.

HW- Good for you! Could you live a little closer please so you can make extra every day? ;). I'll pay!!!
Wait - did I see you are eating ice cream and still losing? I'm going to schedule some time to hate on you this week. :curtain:

Meatpile- thanks. I don't understand why you felt like you needed to lose weight, you've always been thin haven't you? You seem like the kind of person who can eat potato chip sandwichs and drink 2 liter coke all day and still be thin.

Pi- Eat less, move more is the simplest equation there is out there and I believe in it. It's just obvious I haven't done it.

Even though I've been working about 60 hour weeks lately-to not devote the time to my health is nothing but laziness. I could get up earlier, exercise later or do some stuff in between. If you want it badly enough you can make it happen. It really is a time and determination issue with me. I need 2 of me so I can spend time with my kid, keep my house the way I want it, do a good job at work, see my friends, and have some time to belittle and berate Fro.

It's fortunate that we all like fresh food/salad/fruit, it's just a matter of having the time to go to the grocery store and preparing it.
Poor Fro thinks if you can't see the sugar on it, it doesn't have any-so I really need to do the shopping. :lol2:
Today- I'm going to try to get the weeks worth of menus at the market and forward plan this week. We'll see how it goes.

    Thanks all ;)

it is OK for me to work out. 165 is what the weight chart says but I have been down around 190 a few times and I did not have much of a gut left.
