Where are all the right winger movies where they talk about how drilling in Alaska is a good idea and how kicking people off welfare is actually good for them and makes them go to work instead of loafing off the government? We could call it ANWARianna.

Turning your thermostat down a degree or two or even turning off lights in unoccupied rooms would say more energy than the 6-month supply Alaska has to offer and it wouldn't take 10 years to obtain (like Alaska). And most welfare recipients get off of welfare within months. Let's make a movie about the corporations that use taxpayer subsidiaries (corn, oil, pharmaciticals, etc) that total in the hundreds of billions annually and the 3 out of 5 corporations that haven't paid a dime in taxes in 5 years, again, totaling in the hundreds of billions annually. Let's pick on poor people's welfare (whom I'm sure you don't know personally) whose desperate needs total a mere 2 percent of the budget. How very Jesus-like of you but, of course, you only throw "Christianity" around when it comes to banning things you don't like. Anyway, there is nothing wrong with a smart movie, if we Americans flexed a little more of our brain power we wouldn't be in Iraq in the first place.

Got any proof of all those stats you are throwing around? I am especially curious about that 2 percent number.

There came unto him a woman having an alabaster box of very precious ointment, and poured it on his head, as he sat at meat. But when his disciples saw it, they had indignation, saying, To what purpose is this waste?
For this ointment might have been sold for much, and given to the poor.
When Jesus understood it, he said unto them, Why trouble ye the woman? for she hath wrought a good work upon me. For ye have the poor always with you; but me ye have not always. Matthew chapter 26.

For the years of 1985 thru 2003 the tax breakdown is as follows:

    Percentage of total tax

Top 1% of wage earners 31.25
Top 5% of wage earners 50.10
Top 10% of wage earners 61.74
Top 25% of wage earners 80.85
Top 50% of wage earners 95.38%

That means that the bottom 50% of wage earners only pay 4.62% of total income taxes. They still get to benefit from all the things that are provided by that tax money just as much as the rich people do. They get to use the infrastructure, are protected by the military from foriegn threats, they are serviced by all the public safety sources. If you add on top of that all the social spending that they receive it is obsurd to suggest the poor are not treated fairly in this country.
