Suzanne...HELP!

I am looking for the song, "Suzanne" like Platosgirl was looking for a while back. It is a folk/bluegrass song..."Suzaaaane,walking down the road,Always carrying a heavy load, won't you stop and talk with me a while." Or something like. Please help. 12fret

 

I've asked some musicians who've been around a long time and none of them can tell me exactly who wrote the song.
One did tell me he first heard it on a bootleg tape years ago and now I can't remember the name of the artist who performed it on that bootleg, but Ill check into it.

I've heard that song hundreds of times by dozens of different people, and no one can tell me who originally wrote it. Unusual for the bluegrass generation, imo, they can usually tell you who wrote it, what it's about and every person who has recorded it.

 

Harley Allen and Mike Lilly have recorded it, but it's rare and possibly just a home boy recording.

I found it!!! Thanks for reminding me. I love the chord progression in this song. It has a blip, not the whole song but I'm dling it now.

More on the bluegrass song, Suzanne....a friend who plays music with me at Silver Dollar City in Branson tells me that he thinks he picked the song up from a group called Southern Connection years ago. I still have not found a recording or lyric/chord sheet on the song.
