The point is that the Superbowl is a tourist event. Nobody wants to come to Charlotte let alone during the winter. Players, coaches, spectaters want to go somewhere warm plain and simple.

Any shot a city has at hosting a Super Bowl is determined as soon as the location is determined and the stadium is designed. If you live north of Florida, you best have a dome if you want the Show to come to your town.

Green Bay might have hosted a few Super Bowls, but I'm quite sure it was way back in the 40's or 50's, before the NFL and AFL merged.

Another thing I'm sure they consider is logistics. There are a ton of people moving in and out of a Super Bowl city that normally don't, and a huge amount of special equipment and such. Air travel needs to be reliable and roads need to be open and passable.

    Dukey,

You forgot to mention Jim And Tammie as an attraction since people could tour the old PTL site. I hear the train station is pretty nice during December and would be of interest to people from all over the US.
